The Calvin T. Ryan Library provides access to a number of online resources related to psychology.  Beginning this month, two additional databases will be available on an extended trial basis until June 30, 2013.

PsycCRITIQUES:  Provides full-text reviews of scholarly and professional books in psychology. It also publishes reviews from a psychological perspective of popular films and trade books. PsycCRITIQUES includes approximately 40,000 reviews dating back to 1956.

PsycEXTRA: Another full-text resource that includes technical, annual and government reports, conference papers, newsletters, magazines, newspapers, consumer brochures and more.  It contains around 200,000 records that are not indexed in any other APA database.

These trial links will also appear on the library’s “Articles & E-Resources” webpage under the alphabetical database listings and in the following subject areas:

  • Communication Disorders
  • Family Studies
  • Psychology and Counseling
  • Social Work

Your opinion regarding these trial databases is greatly valued!  Both trial database links also provide a brief feedback form. Please use these to let UNK’s librarians know if these resources should be continued, and how they might benefit your research.
