The Calvin T. Ryan Library, in conjunction with the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, is pleased to announce Shelby Stultz as the winner of this year’s Calvin T. Ryan Library Research Award. This award recognizes and honors excellence in the use of library services, collections, and resources by undergraduate student researchers. Shelby’s project is “Developing Literature that Helps Improve Articulation of /r/ Sounds.” She is mentored by Dr. Diane Loeb in the Department of Communication Disorders in the College of Education.
All undergraduate researchers are eligible to apply for this award. All applicants are judged by a panel of UNK Library faculty in accordance with the Association of College and Research Libraries’ Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education. These criteria include demonstrating the ability to determine information needs to start research, effectively find information, critically evaluate information for relevancy, synthesize information, and ethically use information.
The Calvin T. Ryan Library supports the mission of the University of Nebraska-Kearney by acquiring and organizing resources, providing collaborative assistance and instruction, meeting information needs, and adhering to recognized standards of library practice. We would like to again congratulate Shelby, and all of our student researchers, for their excellent work.
